According to https://iwantmedia.com/the-gambling-preferences-of-generation-z/, Generation Z, as you rightly noted, grew up in the era of the Internet and social media. This is the generation that does not remember the times without a constant online presence. Streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube have had a huge impact on gaming culture, and this is not just an observation - it can be called a real cultural evolution. Games have long ceased to be something individual, they have become part of a team, in which it is important not only to complete the game, but also to be a part of something bigger. When you play a multiplayer game, you are not just competing with other people, you are interacting, creating a joint experience, which is much more meaningful than just completing a single-player campaign. If you think about how we played before, everything was relatively isolated: you sit alone in front of the screen, immersed in the game. Games with deep stories like The Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption were really cool back in the day, but they also required long hours to fully immerse yourself in the world. Now, when you play multiplayer games, you can spend the whole day fighting with friends or complete strangers, and the experience is completely different, more alive. It’s important to note that this generation doesn’t perceive single-player games as something “bad”, but they can’t be the first choice, as they don’t provide the same level of engagement and socialization.

I agree that online games have become a significant part of the social life of Generation Z. But I would like to add a little that perhaps many young people still do not give up single-player games, but their interests change. Perhaps for them it is not so much the complexity of the game that is important, but its availability in terms of time. For example, they can play Minecraft or The Witcher 3, but do it with breaks, between something important, like studying or chatting with friends.
