Buy Ssl Certificate Namecheap ##BEST##

For the file-based validation, you will need to upload a certain text file into a particular directory of your website (/.well-known/pki-validation/) to have the certificate issued. You'll then be able to download the certificate file in your account after the order is submitted to the Certificate Authority for activation. This method is not available for Wildcard SSLs.

Note: If you have activated the certificate with domain.com or www.domain.comindicated as Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) in your CSR code, please make sure that the file is available via -known/pki-validation/file.txt . Sectigo OV/EV certificates will still send a domain validation email prior to the CA's document submission request. If you order an OV/EV certificate, Certificate Authority will send you a list of documents required to verify your business, depending on the type of the certificate. To expedite the certificate issuance, also make sure that the Whois for your domain contains the correct contact information. Order processing by Certification Authority may take up to an hour. If you do not receive an approval email within the specified time frame or the certificate has not been issued after one hour, and you have confirmed that the file or record is publicly accessible, please contact our SSL Support Team via Live Chat or Ticket for further assistance.

Different SSL certificates provide different levels of security, depending on the level of protection and security features your website and its users need. You may be familiar with visual elements such as Site Seals, the HTTPS:// protocol appearing in the URL, but there are less-visible functions that help protect your website and visitors.

As their name implies, Single domain SSL certificates only secure a single unique domain or subdomain. Wildcard SSL certificates let site owners secure multiple subdomains under a single unique domain. Multi-domain SSL certificates allow multiple unique domains and subdomains to be secured with a single certificate.

The level of security provided by an SSL certificate is determined by the number of bits used to generate the encryption key. That key is then used to encrypt the data. Most of our SSL certificates use either 256-bit or 128-bit encryption, depending on the capabilities of web browser and server. Both 256- and 128-bit are industry standard for data protection.

Once your SSL cert has been purchased, the next step is to have a CSR code generated on the server where your website is hosted. You will need to have a dedicated IP address, or SNI technology active any shared servers. Using a web host that supports third-party SSL certificates, is important, as well, but if you are a Namecheap hosting customer, this requirement has already been fulfilled. Read more detailed instructions about activating your SSL cert.

When you change your hosting service, believe that your CSR/RSA pair has been compromised, or replace the domain name(s) for which the SSL was issued, you need to have your SSL encryption certificate reissued. Changes to contact details in the certificate may require a reissue, as well. To begin the process, you must generate a new CSR/RSA pair and save your RSA for further installation. Be sure to save your RSA for later steps in the installation. This can usually be done by the user, but your hosting provider may be able to assist. At Namecheap, there is no cost to reissue your SSL certificate.

When you purchase an SSL certificate, an expiration date is encoded by the certificate authority, and cannot be changed. Beginning 30 days prior to the expiration, but before the actual expiry date, you must complete the renewal process. When you use Namecheap as your SSL provider, we will contact you via email during the renewal window to remind you to take action. The process is easy, and requires only four steps. SSL certificate installation is typically performed by the hosting company that provides services for the domain. However, you may also choose install an SSL certificate yourself. Select your server type from the list below to find detailed instructions for installation.

Please note that on all Namecheap Shared Hosting servers, a special Namecheap SSL plugin installs a 1-year free PositiveSSL certificate automatically on the newly added subdomain or add-on. It works the same way for the main domain in the newly purchased hosting account. The plugin can also be used for manual installation (in a few clicks) of PositiveSSL and EssentialSSL certificates. You can find more details on the free 1 year SSL offer in this article, and here's your reference guide on the NamecheapSSL plugin.

Important: Before you begin, please ensure you point your domain to the hosting server. Otherwise, the SSL installation will not be completed, and the certificate will be stuck with the "In progress" status. If you wish to use custom Nameservers instead of Namecheap Web Hosting DNS ones, you should make sure that both the main domain and the www subdomain are pointed to the hosting server using A or CNAME record.

Any certificate in the Ready for SSL installation tab can be installed in just one click. Simply press the Install button beside the certificate and allow about 25 minutes for the process to be completed automatically.

The Namecheap SSL plugin installs such certificates automatically on the corresponding domain or subdomain as soon as it is created if the domain is pointed to the hosting server. It also enables HTTPS redirect. Here's how it works:

For HTTP-based validation, you need to upload a text file into into a particular directory of your website (/.well-known/pki-validation/). If the domain is the primary one in your cPanel account, the document root is usually the public_html folder. The validation file can be downloaded from the page with the certificate details after it was activated.

Note: If you have activated the certificate with domain.com or www.domain.comindicated as FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) in your CSR code, please make sure that the file is availablevia -known/pki-validation/file.txt . In thiscase, www.domain.com is considered to be under your control as well

In case of the CNAME-based validation, you need to create a certain CNAME record in the DNS Zone Editor of your cPanel account. The record can be retrieved on the certificate details page after the certificate activation.

The order processing by a Certification Authority may take about 2 hours. If the certificate is not delivered within 2 hours, please review the I have not received my SSL certificate troubleshooter for help.

A private key will be generated as a result of that command. DO NOT LOSE THIS KEY. You will need it later on when you go to install your certificate on GitLab. Should you lose it, you will have to submit another CSR request.

I use Firebase hosting for my website and have connected it to my custom domain on Namecheap.Because Firebase provides a weird shared SSL on it's own, I bought an SSL certificate from Namecheap. I got the CSR from Google Cloud Platform, activated it and installed the .zip file for the SSL installation. Now I don't know how to install it in firebase. The Namecheap guide only explaines it for Google Cloud Platform application engine, which I am not using.I couldn't find anything adressing this.

Before you can receive and install your SSL, you need to activate it. SSL activation is the process of submitting your website information and a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) code to the Certificate Authority (CA), so they can send you the SSL. You can activate your certificate via your Namecheap account panel.

NOTE: If you do not receive an approval email within 15 minutes (and have already checked your spam/junk mail folders), or the certificate has still not been issued after one hour, and you have confirmed that the file or record is publicly accessible, please contact our SSL Support Team via live chat or our ticketing system for further assistance.

You can also switch the validation method after activation if you want to use a different method. Head to the "Details" page of your certificate, and click the "Edit methods" link in the yellow panel at the top of the page. 041b061a72
